Emma Jean Corman Stahl, 90, of Illiopolis, passed away, at 1:35 A.M. Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL.
A service to celebrate Emma Jean’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Illiopolis Christian Church, Illiopolis, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 12 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery in Niantic. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. The family suggests that memorials be made to Illiopolis Christian Church.
Mrs. Stahl was born May 16, 1920 in Macon County, the daughter of Martin N. and Vera Heckel Corman. She married Bruce H. Stahl on December 24, 1941. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. Bruce preceded her in death April 9, 2009.
Mrs. Stahl was a member of Illiopolis Christian Church, Stephen Decatur Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) and was a 50 year member of Macon County Homemaker’s Extension Association. She very much loved and enjoyed her family and seeing the grandchildren grow up. She liked to attend their 4-H, school band, music events and sports events whenever she could. She enjoyed needlework and gardening as favorite hobbies.
Emma Jean is survived by her sons: Kenneth C. Stahl and wife Ann of Maroa, James B. Stahl and wife Deb, Martin C. Stahl and wife Kim all of Illiopolis; daughter: Martha J. Roberts and husband Ron of N. Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren: Jeff Roberts and wife Sheri, Marc Roberts and wife Keri, Doug Stahl, Dana Milton and husband Shawn, Amanda Stahl, Jenna Stahl, Kara Stahl and Jake Stahl; six great-grandchildren; also surviving is her brother: Robert I. Corman and wife Marlene of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bruce, two brothers; Martin Corman, Jr. and Louis H. Corman.

She was a very nice lady. She was proud of her grandchildren.
I miss her and Bruce at Church. They would sit around me, and he always did something to get her to shush him. Then he would smile real big.
